Women’s Basketball Picked Ninth in CCAA Preseason Coaches’ Poll Ahead of 2025–26 Season
TURLOCK, Calif.--- The 2025–26 Stanislaus State women's basketball team, led by 14th-year head coach Wayman Strickland, is set to begin a new campaign featuring a competitive blend of non-conference contests and CCAA matchups, as the Warriors were picked ninth in this year's CCAA Preseason Coaches' Poll released Wednesday.
Cal Poly Pomona topped the poll with seven first-place votes and 139 points, followed by Cal State LA (two first-place votes, 122 points) and Chico State (three first-place votes, 116). Cal State San Bernardino (109) and Cal State Dominguez Hills (81) rounded out the top five. Cal State San Marcos (79), Cal Poly Humboldt (77), and Cal State East Bay (70) were picked just ahead of Stanislaus State (49), with San Francisco State (39), Cal State Monterey Bay (28), and UC Merced (26) completing the poll.

The Warriors will open their season with an exhibition at Santa Clara on November 3, followed by another preseason contest at Utah State on November 20. Regular-season play begins at the Bill Holtz Classic in Rocklin, where Stan State faces Bushnell on November 21 and Jessup on November 22. The Warriors then visit Fresno Pacific on November 26 before opening CCAA play in December.
Conference action begins with road games at Cal Poly Humboldt (Dec. 4) and Chico State (Dec. 6). Stan State's CCAA home opener is set for December 19 against Cal State San Bernardino, followed by a December 21 contest versus Cal Poly Pomona inside Fitzpatrick Arena.
Returning contributors include guard-forward Alyssa Premo (6.3 ppg, 3.1 rpg), guard Kalyn Harris (5.4 ppg, 3.4 rpg), and sophomore guard Amya Vangkham-Griffin (5.3 ppg). Sophomore guard Quinn Garrett started all 28 games last season, while Aaliyah Dias returns to strengthen the frontcourt after a redshirt year. The Warriors also feature a promising group of newcomers who add depth, size, and local talent to the roster.
All home games will be played at Ed & Bertha Fitzpatrick Arena in Turlock, with live coverage provided on FloCollege for all home and CCAA contests. All Warrior home games will also be broadcast on BlueChip Broadcasting with Levi Flores calling the play-by-play. In addition, away games at the Bill Holtz Classic and non-conference contests at Menlo and Dominican will also air on BlueChip Broadcasting.
The CCAA Tournament is scheduled for March 5–7 in Pomona, followed by the NCAA Division II West Regionals on March 13–17 and the Elite Eight in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, March 24–28.
