TURLOCK, Calif.--- Stan State baseball pitcher Patrick Sweeney has been named the 2024-2025 Stan State Outstanding Student Achiever for the Mathematics. Sweeney will be honored at a special ceremony in May, recognizing the university's most outstanding students.
"Since beginning my college journey at Stanislaus State, the support and guidance of my exceptional professors have motivated me to strive for academic excellence," said Sweeney.
Sweeney is a four-year letter-winner for the Warriors. During his career, he has struck out 49 batters in 53 appearances. He has three victories with one save. "The supportive culture within the Mathematics Department has greatly contributed to my academic success," added Sweeney. "I've had the privilege of learning from outstanding professors, including Dr. Bice, Dr. DeSilva, Dr. Coughlin, Dr. Jue, Dr. Pro, and Dr. Martin. Their flexibility with office hours, detailed in-class notes, and accommodating course schedules has enabled me to fully engage with and excel in the curriculum. These experiences have not only strengthened my foundation in mathematics but have also equipped me with the critical thinking and analytical skills essential for a successful career in the tech industry."
