After Two Rounds of the 2025 NCAA DII Super Regionals, Jack Peters leads the way for the Warriors
RIVERSIDE, Calif.--- The Stan State Warriors recorded 16 birdies en route to a three-under par second round score of 285. Heading into the final round tomorrow at the 2025 NCAA Division II West/South Central Regionals, Stan State has a two-round score of even-par 576 (291-285) to place them in 19th place. Leading the way for the Warriors is Jack Peters with his one-under par 143 (73-70) to place him in a nine-way tie for 54th place.
WARRIORS: After two rounds at the 2025 NCAA Division II West/South Central Regional at the par-72 Victoria Golf Club in Riverside, Calif., Stan State has shot an even-par score of 576 (291-285) to be in 19th place heading into the final round on Saturday. The Warriors shot a three-under par score of 285 in the second round today. Jack Peters leads the way for Stan State with his one-under par 143 after his two-under par 70 today to go with his one-over par 73 from yesterday. He is in a nine-way tie for 54th place. One stroke behind Peters is Nate Jetton with his even-par 144. Jetton had a one-over par 73 yesterday and came back to shoot a one-under par 71 to finish with the 144. Jetton is in a ten-way tie for 63rd place. Chase Bird and Chris Chomyn each have shot a two-over par 146 heading into the final round tomorrow. Bird shot a 75 in the first round and a 71 today. Chomyn has recorded back-to-back rounds of 73 for his 146. They are in a six-way tie for 81st place. Ricky Sullivan heads into the final round with a six-over par 150 (72-78) to place him in a three-way tie for 100th place.
PARS/BIRDIES: The Warriors recorded one eagle, 16 birdies, and 58 pars today in the second round. Jack Peters had 16 pars, one birdie and one eagle on the par-five hole 15. Chris Chomyn had 13 pars and three birdies while Chase Bird recorded ten pars and five birdies. Nate Jetton had five birdies and nine pars today while Ricky Sullivan recorded 11 pars and two birdies this afternoon.
TOP TEAMS: Colorado Christian continues to lead the field with its 34-under par 542 (270-272). Five strokes behind the Cougars is Oklahoma Christian with its 29-under par 547 (278-269). Sitting in third place with its 27-under par 549 (273-276) is Cal State East Bay. Shooting a 23-under par 553 (280-273) to place them in fourth place is Saint Mary's (Tex.). Five strokes out of fourth place with its fifth-place score of 19-under par 557 (279-278) is West Texas A&M followed Midwestern State (Tex.) in sixth with a 20-under par 558 (282-276).
TOP INDIVIDUALS: St. Mary's (Tex.) Baptiste Touchard's 15-under par 129 (63-66) leads the regional field. Just two strokes behind him is Colorado Christian's Xavier Bighaus with a 13-under par 131 (66-65). Sitting in a tie for third place each with a 12-under par 134 are Cal State East Bay's Cooper Groshart and Oklahoma Christian's Oskari Nikku. Groshart shot rounds of 65 and 67 while Nikku shot rounds of 63 and 69. Sitting in a tie for fifth place are Cal State San Bernardino's Chris Wardrup and Western Washington's Peter Dionne-Yahr each with a ten-under par 134.
FINAL ROUND PAIRING: The Warriors' final round tee-time is set for 7:30 a.m.. Stan State will be paired with Hawai'i Hilo and Cal State San Marcos.
NCAA NATIONALS: The 2025 NCAA Division II Championship is set for May 19-25 at the PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. The top six teams and the top two individuals from non-qualifying teams from the West/South Central Regional Championships after Saturday's final round will advance to the Nationals.
