Autumn Kirby Earns First FloCollege/CCAA Defensive Player of the Week Nod

ALISO VIEJO, Calif.--- Autumn Kirby has been named the FloCollege/California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA)'s Defensive Player of the Week, a week after Alex Byrd earned the award. This is the third Warrior to receive the honors, first time in Autumn Kirby's career that she has received the nod. Kirby recorded 14 blocks, including two solo blocks, and two service aces this week in matches against Cal State East Bay and Cal State Monterey Bay.
 
Autumn Kirby was a helped create a wall in the Cal State East Bay match, assisting in the 3-0 win for the Warriors with her seven blocks. Kirby combined for all seven of her blocks, making up half of the team's total of 14. She also picked up six kills and two service aces to show off her offensive talent. Kirby recorded seven blocks, two of them being solo, in Stan State's 3-0 sweep of Cal State Monterey Bay with the team recording 14 blocks once again. Byrd had four kills to continue owning the net.
 
Autumn Kirby now leads the team and conference in total blocks with 10, averaging 1.16 blocks per set to rest second in the conference. Her blocks also assist the Warriors in ranking 13th in the nation in blocks per set and 25th in the nation for total blocks.
 
Stan State and Autumn Kirby head to Cal Poly Pomona to play in the CCAA Championship Tournament on Thursday, November 21st. The third seed Warriors will play against Cal State East Bay at 3:00 p.m. in hopes of making it to the semifinal the following day.
