Stan State Heads Into the CCAA Championship Tournament as Eighth in the NCAA Regional Rankings

INDIANAPOLIS, IN.--- The third NCAA Division II volleyball regional ranking was released this week, the final regional ranking before the NCAA selection show. Stan State has remains eighth in the region with their 19-7 record within the region and against Division II teams.
 
For the California Collegiate Athletics Association (CCAA), five teams are listed, including Stan State. They have all retained their rankings from the previous week, with Cal Poly Pomona ranked first with their 22-2 record among regional teams (23-2 in DII play). San Francisco State is seated in second (20-5 regional, 21-5 DII) followed by Cal State Los Angeles in fifth (16-8 regional, 16-9 DII). Cal State San Bernardino is seated below Stan State in ninth place (15-9 regional, 15-10 DII). The PacWest's Chaminade and Point Loma have claimed the third and fourth spots. The only shakeup was from the Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) teams. Simon Fraser is now in seventh, while Central Washington moved up to sixth. Alaska Fairbanks remains in tenth.
 
The conference tournament winers will advance to the NCAA DII Championship, with the rest of the field coming from at-large bids. The West region is made up of the PacWest, GNAC, and CCAA conferences, meaning there will be five at-large bids for the region. The NCAA will announce the tournament playing field in a selection show on November 25th at 4:30 p.m., hosted on NCAA's website.
 
For the CCAA, #6 Cal Poly Pomona (23-2,17-1 CCAA), #20 San Francisco State (21-5, 15-3 CCAA) are coming into the CCAA tournament as the one and two seed, respectively. RV Stan State (19-7, 12-6 CCAA) are the third seed, followed by RV Cal State LA (16-9, 11-7 CCAA) as the fourth seed. RV San Bernardino (15-10, 11-7 CCAA) is fifth and Cal State East Bay (13-13, 8-10 CCAA) is the sixth seed.
 
Stan State is playing tomorrow, Thursday, November 21st, at 3:00 p.m. in the quarterfinals at the CCAA Championship Tournament. The Warriors will face Cal State East Bay at Kellogg Arena on Cal Poly Pomona's campus in Pomona, California.
