Warriors Travel to Oaks then Host Seawolves

TURLOCK, Calif.--- Stan State takes on two opponents this week. On Wednesday, April 2nd, the Warriors travel to Atherton, Calif. to face Menloc College in a rescheduled doubleheader, with the first game scheduled for 12:00 p.m. On Friday, April 4th, Stan State hosts Sonoma State for a pair of doubleheaders. The first game on Friday begins at 1:00 p.m. while on Saturday, April 5th, the action begins at 11:00 a.m.
 
LAST WEEK: The Warriors took a game off No. 14 Cal State East Bay last week over their four-game series. On March 28th, the Pioneers captured the first game 10-4 and the Warriors took the second game 5-2. In the first game, Sarah Warden was two-for-two with two doubles and two runs batted in. Shelby Frutoz hit a home run and the Warriors added sacrifice hits to play small ball and earn the win in the second game.
 
On March 29th, the first game went in Cal State East Bay's favor 6-3 and the Pioneers inched past the Warriors 4-3 in game two. Malia Babasa was two-for-three with a run scored in game one, hitting two doubles. Karli DalBianco and Allejandra Perea each hit home runs to highlight game two.
 
WARRIORS IN REVIEW: Stan State is 10-20 overall and 7-13 in CCAA play. The Warriors are hitting .250 as a team and hold a 3.81 earned run average. The Warriors have a .307 slugging percentage .328 on base percentage. Their 40 errors over 30 games earn them a .955 fielding percentage.
 
HITTERS: Two Warriors are hitting over .300 in Malia Babasa (.371) and Karli DalBianco (.344). Babasa leads the team in hits (36), stolen bases (5), runs scored (18), and on base percentage (.435). Karli DalBianco has batted the most runs in (15), leads the team in home runs (2), and leads in slugging with (.473).
 
PITCHERS: Victoria Alarcon has a 4-5 record, leading the team in strikeouts with 45 and a 3.39 earned run average over 53.2 innings of work. Bree Barner has recorded Stan State's only save thus far, while Sasha Martello has recorded the team's fewest walks with six.
 
MULTIPLES: Malia Babasa has earned the most multi-hit games with 11, recording nine games with two hits, one game with three hits, and one game with four hits. Karli DalBianco follows with eight games with six two-hit games and two three-hit games. Babasa holds longest hitting steak with 14 games, with her on-base streak at 15. Karli DalBianco has the most multi-RBI games with four, including three games with two RBIs and one with five RBIs.
 
NATIONALLY RANKED: Stan State is in the top 60 in NCAA Division II in several categories. As a team, they are 52nd in sacrifice bunts (25), 23rd in double plays (15), and 13th in double plays per game (0.5). Sasha Martello is 44th in walks per seven innings at 1.21.
 
CCAA RANKINGS: The Warriors have claimed top five positions in several categories within the CCAA. As a team, Stan State is fifth in total sacrifice bunts (25) and fourth in strikeout-to-walk ratio (1.68) and double plays per game (0.5). Victoria Alarcon is fifth with two shutouts and third in complete games with nine. Sasha Martello is fourth in walks per seven innings with 1.21, while Karli DalBianco is first in sacrifice bunts per game with 0.2.
 
PEREA: Allejandra Perea hit her first home run as a Warrior in the final game of the series with Cal State East Bay. This is one of her best performances as a hitter, only topped by her two-for-four game versus Central Washington where Perea drove in three runs.
 
DALBIANCO: Karli DalBianco went six-for-twelve in the series versus Cal State East Bay. DalBianco walked twice, scored three runs, and hit a home run. Of her three home runs in her career, two of them have come this season, including the first grand slam of her career.  
 
MENLO COLLEGE: The Oaks (8-24) are batting .227 as a team and hold a 6.87 earned run average. Four players are batting over .200 in Gabrielle Rodriguez (.281), Bella Cortez (.254), Emma Medina (.250), and Lucy Brooks (.211). Medina leads the team in hits (18), runs scored (10), and on base percentage (.329). Rodriguez holds the highest slugging percentage at .368 and is tied with Brooks and Jolena Velasquez for the most stolen bases with two. Bella Cortez has recorded the most runs batted in with seven. Shelby White holds a 6.41 earned run record with 31 strikeouts over 60.1 innings. Destanee Perez and Rosaline Torralva each have a save.
 
ALL-TIME SERIES: Dating back to 2002, Menlo College and Stan State have faced off for a total of four games over two days. The teams are tied at a 2-2 all-time record, with each time taking a win in the series in 2002 and 2012.  
 
SONOMA STATE: The Seawolves (21-18, 8-12 CCAA) are batting .302 and have a 2.66 earned run average as a team. Four players are batting over .300 in Amari Houston (.385), Sophia Newcomb (.353), Lauren Mirtoni (.327), and Iris Bejarano (.323). Houston leads in slugging percentage (.587), runs scored (29), on base percentage (4.29), and stolen bases (20). Newcomb leads the team in hits with 47, while Kaiya Dickens has batted in 23 runs. Jasmine Moreno has a team-leading four home runs. Charlie Johnson holds the lowest ERA at 1.67 and has strike out 50 batters over 125.2 innings. Emily Hinchey has recorded the Seawolves' two saves.  
 
ALL-TIME SERIES: The Seawolves lead the all-time series 63-43, dating back to 2000. The Warriors look to snap Sonoma State's win streak in their upcoming series.

On Friday, April 11th, the Otters host the Warriors for a doubleheader beginning at 1:00 p.m. The following day, Saturday, April 12th, the doubleheader is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
