Men’s Golf Heading to NCAA DII Regionals in Riverside this Thursday-Saturday, May 8-10
TURLOCK, Calif.--- For the fifth straight time and 25th time in the history of the program, Stan State men's golf will be heading to the NCAA Division II West/Super Regionals this Thursday-Saturday, May 8-10 at the par-72 Victoria Golf Club in Riverside, Calif. The first of three rounds of golf are set to begin at 7:30 a.m. this Thursday, May 8. The second round and final rounds will be determined on Friday and Saturday evenings.
25TH APPEARANCE: Stan State men's golf team, under the guidance of head coach Brandon Christianson, received an at-large berth to the 2025 NCAA Division II Men's Golf Championship. This is the 25th time that the Warriors have been invited to the NCAA Division II Men's Golf Championships and this is the fifth straight time. Since 1999, the Warriors have had 19 top five finishes including capturing the 2012 NCAA Division II Regional in Litchfield Park, Ariz., with a one-over par 865 in the 54-hole tournament. In the last ten years, Stan State has two top five finishes including in 2017 in Stockton, Calif., when the Warriors finished in second place with a 19-under par 845.
LAST YEAR: The Warriors finished in 15th place with a 32-over par 884 at the 2024 NCAA Division II South Central/West Regionals in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Chris Chomyn shot a two-under par 211 to finish in a tie for tenth place. The year before in Rohnert Park, Calif., the Warriors finished in twelfth place with a 22-over par 886. Nate Jetton paced them with an even-par 216 that placed him in a tie for 13th. In 2022 in Pueblo, Colo, the Warriors shot a three-under par 849 to finish in fifth place. Michael Jura III shot a six-under par 207 to finish in a tie for tenth place.
PARTICIPATING TEAMS: The top ten teams from both the West Region and South Central will compete at the Super Regional in Riverside, Calif. The West Region is comprised of teams from the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA), PacWest Conference, and the Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC). The South Region is comprised of teams from the Rocky Mountain Athletic and Lone Star Conference.

LAST TIME ON THE COURSE: The Warriors are coming off a sixth-place finish at the 2025 CCAA Men's Golf Championship at the par-72 Sandpiper Golf Club in Santa Barbra, Calif. The Warriors host a 32-over par 902 (303-302-297). For the third straight year, Chris Chomyn earned All-Tournament honors for finishing in the top five. Chomyn shot a one-over par 217 (72-73-72) to finish in a tie for fourth place.
LAST TIME AT THE VICTORIA GOLF CLUB: The last time that the Warriors played at The Victoria Club was the 2023 CCAA Men's Golf Championships in which they shot a six-under par 858 to finish in fourth place. Chris Ebster led the way for Stan State with his five-under par 211, which placed in third place with Chomyn shooting a four-under par 212 to finish tied for fourth place.
POST-SEASON HONORS: Chris Chomyn and Jack Peters were named to the 2025 All-CCAA Team. Chomyn was named to the First Team while Peters was an Honorable Mention selection. This was Chomyn's second time earning this honor while it was Peters' first.
FLOCOLLEGE/CCAA MEN'S GOLFERS OF THE WEEK: Chris Chomyn and Jack Peters were named the FloCollege/CCAA Co-Men's Golfers of the Week for their performance at the Battle in the Desert, Feb. 24-26 at the par-72 Rams Hill Golf Course in Borrego Springs, Calif. The duo each shot a nine-under par 207 in the three-day tournament to tie for first place. Peters won the play-off hole for medalist honors. The Warriors shot a school record 26-under par 836 for a second-place finish.
REPRESENTING THE WARRIORS: Stan State head coach Brandon Christianson will be sending CHRIS Chomyn, Ricky Sullivan, Jack Peters, Nate Jetton, and Chase Bird to the Super Regionals, May 8-10. The Warriors' tee-time is set for 12:40 p.m. for the first round this Thursday. They will be paired with golfers from Simon Fraser and Colorado State Pueblo.
NCAA NATIONALS: The 2025 NCAA Division II Championship is set for May 19-25 at the PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. The top six teams and the top two individuals from non-qualifying teams from the West/South Central Regional Championships will advance to the Nationals.
