VOLLEYBALL, CCAA CHAMPS!
Stan State captured its first CCAA Tournament Championship this weekend in program history. The Warriors swept Cal State East Bay in the quarterfinals and came back to defeat No. 20 San Francisco State in four in the semi-finals. This past Saturday, Stan State defeated the defending NCAA Division II Champions Cal State Los Angeles Golden Eagles in four sets in the championship match. Stan State has won seven games in a row to improve to 22-7. They now wait until this Monday, November 25 at 4:30 p.m. to see who they will playing and where in the NCAA Division II West Regionals which begin on December 5. The official 2024 NCAA Division II Volleyball Tournament field will be announced on www.ncaa.com at 4:30 p.m. (PT) tomorrow, November 25.
WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY 24TH AT NATIONALS
The Warrior women's cross country team finished in 24th place at the 2024 NCAA Division II Women's Cross Country Championships in Sacramento, Calif., this Saturday, November 23. Stan State was led by Annie Wild's 59th place finish with a time of 21:47.5 in the 6K race. Jacqueline Sanchez-Silva ran a 22:11.7 to finish in 89th place. Adams State captured the team title while Grand Valley State's Lauren Kiley was the individual champion.
FOUR WARRIOR BASKETBALL GAMES IN FIVE DAYS
Stan State men's and women's basketball teams will host four games this week in the Fitzpatrick Arena on Stan State's campus. The Warrior women's basketball team will host Jessup University this Tuesday, November 26 at 5:00 p.m. Stan State men's basketball team will be at The Fitz the next evening, November 27 for a 3:00 p.m. scheduled tip-off with Academy of Art. Both teams will entertain Cal State Monterey Bay this Saturday, November 30 in their CCAA openers. WOMEN'S BASKETBALL CAPTURES FIRST WIN OF THE SEASON
Stan State defeated Fresno Pacific 62-58 on the road in Fresno in a non-conference game this past Wednesday evening. Talia Maxwell scored a career high 26 points to go with her 11 rebounds to lead the way for the Warriors, who snapped their three-game losing streak. Jadyn Patterson added a career high 19 points while Da'Myiah Lewis scored 10 points and grabbed 13 rebounds. They will return home this Tuesday, November 26 for a 5:00 p.m. scheduled tip-off with Jessup University. Stan State will begin its CCAA season this Saturday, November 30 at 1:00 p.m., when the Warriors host Cal State Monterey Bay.
MEN'S BASKETBALL ENTERS THANKSGIVING WEEK, 3-2
The Warriors lost a heart breaker, 86-83, in overtime in their home opener on Saturday afternoon despite Daniel Ameyaw and William Chavarin recording career highs. Ameyaw scored 21 points and grabbed seven rebounds with Chavarin chipping in 14 points off the bench. Jeremiah Jones added 15 points for Stan State, who is now 3-2 this season. They will host Academy of Art this Wednesday, November 27 at 3:00 p.m. Stan State will have its CCAA opener this Saturday, November 30, when the Warriors entertain Cal State Monterey Bay at 3:00 p.m.
ACADEMIC HONORS FOR WARRIOR SOCCER PLAYERS
Four members of the Stan State men's and women's soccer team were named to the 2024-25 Academic All-District Men's and Women's Soccer Teams, as selected by the College Sports Communicators. Representing the Warrior women on this prestigious team were Aliah Avila, Kayla Perez, and Makeila Yancey. Marco Carbajal was named to the men's team. They will now be placed on the Academic All-American ballot with the Academic All-American Teams being announced in December.
POST-SEASON AWARDS PILING UP FOR STAN STATE VOLLEYBALL
The 2024 All-CCAA Volleyball Team was announced this week at the CCAA Tournament Championship in Pomona, Calif. For the second time in her career, Gabby Rawson was named the CCAA Libero of the Year. Malia Tanksley was named the CCAA Freshman of the Year. She is the first ever Warrior volleyball player to receive this honor. Rawson was a First Team selection with Alex Byrd being a Second Team honoree. Tanksley along with Haley Burdo, Makenna Carrillo, and Autumn Kirby were Honorable Mention selections. Burdo was the Elite 13 Award winner for having the highest-grade point average of any student-athlete competing at the CCAA Tournament. Five Warriors were named to the All-CCAA Tournament Team. Ellison Weaver was the Tournament's Most Valuable Player. Burdo, Byrd, Rawson, and Isabella Saucedo were also named to the All-Tournament Team.

The Annual Stan State Department of Athletics' Crab Freed is set for February 8, 2025, in the Ed & Bertha Fitzpatrick Arena on the Stanislaus State campus. ELLISON WEAVER AND TALIA MAXWELL ARE THIS WEEK'S STAN STATE WARRIOR STUDENT-ATHLETES OF THE WEEK, PRESENTED BY KW RECOVERY LAB
This week's Stan State Warrior Student-Athletes of the Week, presented by KW Recovery Lab, are volleyball player Ellison Weaver and women's basketball player Talia Maxwell.
Weaver was named the CCAA Tournament MVP in leading the Warriors to their first ever CCAA Tournament Championship. She hit for .297 with 44 kills and 38 digs. Weaver added four service aces and five total blocks for Stan State. In the championship match against Cal State L.A., Weaver had 18 digs and hit for a .342 hitting percentage to lead the Warriors to the four-set victory.
Maxwell led the Warriors to their first victory of the year with a 62-58 road win over Central Valley rival Fresno Pacific. The sophomore guard returned home to score a career high 26 points on six-for-15 shooting from the field including making her only three-point attempt. Maxwell added a season 11 rebounds for her third double-double of her career and second of the season.

The Warriors will face Academy of Art this Wednesday, November 27 in a non-conference game. They will begin CCAA play this Saturday, November 30 when the Warriors entertain Cal State Monterey Bay. - Despite Career Nights by Ameyaw and Chavarin, Warriors Fall in Overtime to Bobcats in Home OpenerWith five minutes left in regulation, Stan State led 65-57 but the visiting UC Merced Bobcats outscored the Warriors 14-6 to send the game into the overtime. UC Merced led 84-77 with just 20 seconds to go in overtime and held on for the 86-83 non-conference victory. Daniel Ameyaw and William Chavarin each had career nights with 21 points and 14 points respectively for the hosts. Jeremiah Jones chipped in 14 points for Stan State.
