Stan State Tennis Begins Spring Season in Davis

TURLOCK, Calif.--- After a strong Fall Season, the Stan State women's tennis team will begin their Spring Season on Saturday, February 1st in Davis, Calif., for a non-conference match with UC Davis.  This will be the first of 19 matches for the Warriors as they look to qualify for the 2025 PacWest Championships April 15-19 in Surprise, Arizona.
 
The Warriors, led by head coach Verek Visaraga, compete in the PacWest Conference. At the 2024 PacWest Conference Championships, Stan State was knocked out of the tournament by Fresno Pacific after falling to Biola in the first round. This was the second season in a row the Warriors had secured a berth to the PacWest Conference Championships. In 2023, the finished fifth.
 
After their season opener in Davis, the Warriors will travel to San Rafael, Calif. on Sunday, February 2nd for their first PacWest match-up versus Dominican University of California. Later that week, on Thursday, February 6th, Stan State hosts Fresno Pacific at 12:00 p.m. for their home PacWest opener. Academy of Art comes to visit that Saturday, February 8th, for a 12:00 p.m. conference match.

Next, Stan State will have a four-match road trip in Hawaii from February 15-18, beginning first in Honolulu with Chaminade on the 15th at noon. On the 16th, the Warriors face the Lone Star Conference's Dallas Baptist University. They face PacWest opponents once again, starting with Hawaii Pacific at 11:00 a.m. on the 17th, followed by a trip to Hilo for a match with Hawai'i Hilo on the 18th.

When the Warriors return home, they host a three-match homestand. On Sunday, February 23rd, Menlo College visits at 12:00 p.m. Jessup University comes to Turlock on Friday, February 28th at noon, followed by Dominican University on Sunday, March 2nd, also at noon.

The next weekend, Stan State travels down to Southern California for matches at Azusa Pacific on Saturday, March 8th at 10:00 a.m. and with Cal State Los Angeles on Sunday, March 9th at 11:00 a.m.
 
Returning to Turlock, California, the Warriors host Westmont College at 1:00 p.m. for their last home match of the season.
 
The Warriors will be on the road for five matches to close out the 2025 portion of the season. They begin with Fresno Pacific University at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 14th. Next, they travel for a non-conference matchup with University of Nevada at 12:00 p.m. in Reno, Nev.
 
After almost a two-week break, the Warriors travel to Rocklin, Calif for a conference match versus Jessup on Saturday, April 5th. The next Thursday, April 10th, Stan State faces University of the Pacific on neutral territory in Modesto, Calif. at 4:00 p.m. for a non-conference match. For the final regular season match of the season, the Warriors travel to Livermore, Calif., returning to conference play for a match-up with Academy of Art.

Stan State looks to travel to the PacWest Conference Championships once again, which will take place from Tuesday, April 15th – Saturday, April 19th in Surprise, Arizona at Surprise Tennis and Racquet Club.  The NCAA West Regionals are scheduled on May 12th and 13th, followed by the NCAA Division II National Championships in Altamonte Springs, Florida, at Sanlando Park from May 21-25.
