Cross Country Women's Team Competes at the NCAA Division II Championships

TURLOCK, Calif. --- Stanislaus State's women's cross country team will be heading to the NCAA Division II Championship, which will take place at Arcade Creek Cross Country Course in Sacramento, Calif. The race will take place on Saturday, November 23rd, beginning with the men's 10K at 10:00 a.m. PST followed by the women's 6K at 11:15 a.m. PST.
 
NCAA WEST REGIONAL: The women's team were 5th overall out of 28 finishing teams at the NCAA Division II West Regional in Billings, Montana. Jacqueline Sanchez-Silva was the first finisher for the Warriors, completing the race in 21:07.39 to earn 9th place, followed by Annie Wild in 13th with a time of 21:26.06. The next to cross the line was Crystal Hernandez in 30th, finishing in 21:55.33. Sanchez-Silva and Wild earned All-Region honors for their top 25 finish.
 
NATIONALLY RANKED: With the most recent 2024 NCAA Division II Women's Cross Country National Coaches' Poll, released by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), the Stan State women's team has been ranked 22nd for the second week in a row, continuing to be in the top thirty all season.
 
BRIGHT FUTURE: Stan State's women's team is one of the youngest teams competing. Only one of the Warrior runners that participated in the West Regional was a senior in Kayden Legan. Crystal Hernandez, Jacqueline Sanchez-Silva, Tessa Vasquez, and Annie Wild are all sophomores, while Sophia Mirelez is a freshman.
