Haley Burdo Receives CCAA Volleyball Elite 13 Award
ALISO VIEJO, Calif.---Stan State's Haley Burdo is this year's recipient of the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Volleyball Elite 13 Award. Burdo was presented the award before the start of the CCAA Championship Tournament, held in Pomona, California at the Kellogg Arena on Cal Poly Pomona's campus. The last volleyball Elite 13 award winner for Stan State was Macky Morris in 2019.
The Elite 13 Award is presented to student-athlete with the highest grade point average at this year's CCAA Championship Tournament. Haley Burdo, a psychology major, has a 4.00 grade point average. Burdo is the recipient of numerous academic achievement awards throughout her four-year career at Stan State, including having made the CCAA All-Academic team along with the CSC Academic All-District Team, D2ADA Academic Achivement, CCAA Fall Academic Honor Roll, and the Department's Honor Roll.
Burdo has recorded six double-doubles during the regular season bringing her career total up to 35. She has recorded 470 assists in the regular season, becoming the all-time career leader in assists with 2,156 in her career. Burdo is third all-time in service aces with 145 and eighth all-time in digs with 873.
Haley Burdo and the Stan State Warriors are the third seed heading into the Championships and face sixth seed Cal State East Bay at the tournament today. Haley Burdo is the all-time career record holder for assists, as well as third in service aces and eighth in digs.
