Chris Chomyn Named Stan State’s 54th NCAA Division II/PING All-American
NORMAN, Okla.--- As announced this morning by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA), Stan State's Chris Chomyn was named to the 2024 NCAA Division II/PING All-American Team. Chomyn is the 54th Warrior men's golfer to earn this honor in program history.
Chomyn was named to the NCAA Division II/PING All-American Honorable Mention Team. This is the second year in a row that a Warrior has earned All-American honors. Last season, Nate Jetton earned Second Team honors.
Earlier this spring, Chomyn was named to the 2024 NCAA Division II PING All-West Region First Team along with fellow Warrior Nate Jetton. He finished in a tie for tenth place at the NCAA Division II South Central/West Super Regional Championships with his two-under par 211.
For the second time in his career, Chomyn was named to the CCAA Men's Golf Championships All-Tournament Team as he finished in the top five at the 2024 CCAA Men's Golf Championships in mid-April. He shot a five-under par 211 to finish in a three-way tie for fourth place.
The Irvine, Calif., native and Jetton were named to the All-CCAA First Team. He also was a two-time CCAA Men's Golfer of the Week. The 2023-24 Stan State Male Student-Athlete of the Year finished the season ranked second in the West Region and 35th in the nation in the SCOREBOARD/Powered by clippd rankings.
Chomyn is one of three golfers from the CCAA that earned All-American honors this year. He joins Simon Björken of Cal State Monterey Bay and John Kim of Cal State San Bernardino as Honorable Mention honorees.
