Women's Tennis Wraps Up Strong Weekend at Dominican Hidden Duals
SAN RAFAEL, Calif.--- The Stanislaus State women's tennis team wrapped up a productive weekend at the Dominican University Hidden Duals at the Castellucci Family Tennis Center, facing strong regional competition from Dominican, Menlo, and Jessup in two days of singles and doubles action.
Day One Recap
The Warriors opened the weekend Friday with a dominant showing in singles play against Jessup, sweeping all five matches. Emma Yu won 6-4, 6-4 over Briana Smith, Abbigail Mulick earned a 6-0, 6-2 victory over Rylie Maloney, and Katrine Damkjær cruised past Danielle Akabene 6-0, 6-1. Parker Orlando and Maiah White each picked up convincing straight-set wins, both allowing just one game apiece.
Against Menlo later in the day, Stan State collected three singles victories. Orlando edged Gloria Jovic 8-7 (6), White won 6-3, 6-4, and Emi Mikami posted a 6-4, 6-2 decision over Bianca Tatu. Damkjær narrowly fell in a third-set tiebreak, 11-9, after splitting the first two sets.
In doubles against Dominican, the Warriors battled through three tightly contested matches, with each ending in 6-4 scores in favor of the Penguins.
Day Two Recap
Stanislaus State carried its momentum into Saturday, highlighted by strong singles wins over Dominican. Damkjær earned a three-set victory over Astrid Craig (6-2, 1-6, 10-7), while Orlando and White each posted straight-set wins.
In doubles play, Yu and Mulick defeated Jessup's Briana Smith and Danielle Akabene 6-2, and Orlando and Damkjær teamed up for a commanding 6-0 win.
Warriors Update
The Warriors showed steady improvement throughout the Hidden Duals, displaying balanced singles depth and continued doubles chemistry. The event provided valuable match experience against familiar regional competition as Stan State builds toward the spring dual-match season.
Up Next
Stanislaus State will close out the fall portion of its schedule at the Menlo College Hidden Duals, scheduled for November 7–8 in Atherton. The Warriors' 2025 spring season schedule will be announced in December or January.
