TURLOCK, Calif.---Despite a determined effort and a strong third-set win, the Stanislaus State volleyball team pushed Cal State Los Angeles to four sets before falling, 3–1 (19–25, 18–25, 25–22, 21–25), in Saturday's annual Dig Pink Match at Fitzpatrick Arena. Tate led the Warriors with 11 kills and four blocks as Stan State totaled 11 team blocks against one of the CCAA's top teams.

With the result, Cal State Los Angeles improved to 12–3 overall and 8–0 in CCAA play, while Stanislaus State moved to 7–8 overall and 5–3 in conference.

Set One
The Warriors battled evenly through the first half of the opening frame, trailing just 15–13 after a block from Teagan Irish and Christallynn Tate. Cal State Los Angeles used a 6–1 run behind Samarah DaCoud and Ayjah Landers to take control. Fallon Freeman's late kill gave the Warriors one last spark before the Golden Eagles closed out the set.

Set Two
Stan State started strong again, using a service ace from Shaelyn Pruiett and kills by Tate and Emily Meyer to build an 8–5 advantage. Cal State Los Angeles responded with a big run, fueled by back-to-back kills from Landers and Zuhal Cetin. Tate and Freeman combined for late points at the net, but LA's efficient .353 attack percentage proved decisive as the visitors took a 2–0 lead.

Set Three
The Warriors turned the momentum in the third, showing energy and composure after an early LA lead. Tate and Meyer sparked a 5–0 run midway through the set, while Malia Tanksley and Lauren Hamilton sealed key points with blocks at the net. Freeman's final kill capped the frame as Stan State held off a late LA push to win 25–22.

Set Four
The Warriors carried their third-set confidence into the fourth, taking an early 12–10 edge behind consecutive kills from Meyer and Tate and an ace from Pruiett. Cal State Los Angeles rallied late, with DaCoud and Landers combining
for four kills in the closing points to clinch the match despite a gritty effort from Stan State that included 12 kills in the final frame.

That begins a three-match road trip for the Warriors, who will also visit Cal State Dominguez Hills (Friday, Oct. 24, 5 p.m.) and Cal State San Marcos (Saturday, Oct. 25, 2 p.m.) before returning home to face Cal Poly Pomona on Friday, October 31, at 5 p.m. at Fitzpatrick Arena.
