Stan State Men’s Soccer Ranked No. 2 Nationally, No. 1 in West for Third Straight Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo.--- Stanislaus State men's soccer remains ranked No. 2 in the nation for the third straight week, according to the United Soccer Coaches poll, while also holding the No. 1 spot in the West Region for the third consecutive week. The Warriors are one of only three teams in NCAA Division II to remain undefeated at 6–0, joining Lynn University and Young Harris College. They are also one of four programs from the West Region ranked nationally, alongside Cal Poly Pomona at No. 11, Seattle Pacific at No. 17, Cal State Los Angeles at No. 21, and Cal State San Bernardino at No. 25.

This marks Stan State's first 6–0 start since 2015, when the Warriors opened the season 7–0. The current squad has matched that early-season dominance, showing the same ability to string together results while rising in both regional and national recognition.

Recent Results
On Sept. 18, the Warriors blanked No. 19 Menlo, 1-0, behind a first-half strike from Emmanuel Duran, assisted by Adrian Yepez and Samuel Villanueva. The result marked their third straight shutout and improved the team to 5-0.
Then on Sept. 20, Stan State edged Dominican 1-0 in a road match to improve to 6-0 — their best start since 2015 — and recorded a fourth straight shutout. Gerardo Flores delivered the game-winner in the 16th minute off a feed from Villanueva, and Ruiz-Hernandez made key saves to preserve the clean sheet.

NCAA Stat Leaders
Stan State ranks in the top ten nationally in seven statistical categories: first in winning percentage, third in save percentage, third in goals-against average, fourth in goal differential, fifth in assists per game, and seventh in shutout percentage. Individually, Samuel Villanueva leads the nation in both total assists and assists per game, Gerardo Flores is third in game-winning goals, and goalkeeper Angel Ruiz-Hernandez stands fifth in goals-against average and seventh in save percentage.

West Region Rankings
Behind Stan State at No. 1, Cal Poly Pomona is ranked No. 2, followed by Seattle Pacific at No. 3, Cal State Los Angeles at No. 4, and Cal State San Bernardino at No. 5. Rounding out the top 10 are Western Oregon, Hawai'i Pacific, Menlo, Cal State Dominguez Hills, and Point Loma.

UP NEXT:
The Warriors now turn their attention to the start of California Collegiate Athletic Association play, hosting Cal State East Bay on Friday, Oct. 3, at 4:30 p.m., before welcoming No. 21 Cal State Los Angeles on Sunday, Oct. 5, at 11:30 a.m.
