Stan State’s Mila Real Improves NCAA DII Qualifying Time at APU Franson Last Chance Meet; She Also Breaks Her Own School Record
AZUSA, Calif.--- For the second straight week, Stan State's Mila Real broke her own school record and improved her NCAA Division II qualifying time in the 400-hurdles. This time, the sophomore hurdler ran a time of 59.70 at the APU Franson Last Chance Meet at Cougar Stadium in Azusa, Calif. Real moves into twelfth place on the NCAA Division II Outdoor qualifying list in the 400-hurdles.
With her time of 59.70, Real placed second in the field at the APU Franson Last Chance Meet to Fresno Pacific's Avril Mendoza who ran a time of 59.41. Real defeated Allison Comer of Colorado School of Mines who ran a third-place time of 1:00.41 and Point Loma's Sarah McGarry who finished with a time of 1:02.10. All four of those times are NCAA Division II qualifying times.
Heading into today, Cal State San Marcos' Rasha Badrani had the fastest time in the nation in the 400-hurdles with a time of 57.79. Real had the 22nd fastest time in the nation with a time of 1:00.00 heading into this morning that she ran last week at the CCAA Track & Field Championships.
The 2025 NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Track & Field Championships are set for May 22-24, 2025, at CSU Pueblo ThunderBowl on the campus of Colorado State University Pueblo in Pueblo, Colo. The official field of the championships will be announced this Tuesday, May 13 on www.ncaa.com.
