Warriors to Host Two at Home This Week
TURLOCK, Calif.--- Stan State hosts two this week, beginning with Jessup University on Friday, February 28th at 12:00 p.m. On Sunday, March 2nd, Dominican University of California visits for a match at 12:00 p.m.
LAST WEEK: This past week, the Warriors fell to NCAA Division I UC Davis, though Parker Orlando did pick up a win in the singles to make the final score 6-1. The Warriors triumphed over Menlo College 5-2, with a tense doubles win by Emma Yu and Annabelle Mulick on the last doubles court to give Stan State the edge going into singles matches.
STAN STATE WARRIORS: Stan State is 5-2 overall, having lost to only one Division II opponent. Parker Orlando holds the best record in singles matches with five wins and two losses. Orlando and partner Abbigail Mulick are currently 4-2 in doubles matches. Annabelle Mulick and Emma Yu are 4-3 in doubles matches this season.
JESSUP WARRIORS: Jessup is currently 0-5 overall having most recently faced Dominican and Academy of Art. The Warriors are struggling across the board, having lost all their matches so far without taking a point. Jessup has not been able to find a win in a match in the doubles point either.
PENGUINS: Dominican is 5-1 overall and have taken two wins 7-0 versus Jessup University and Fresno Pacific University. However, the first time the faced Fresno Pacific on Sunbird territory, the Penguins won 5-2. Their only loss comes from a 7-0 victory by University of the Pacific. In their 4-3 win over Academy of Art, the Penguins dropped the doubles point but managed to take four in the singles to take the win.
UP NEXT: Stan State travels for two in Southern California, playing Azusa Pacific on Saturday, March 8th at 10:00 a.m. The Warriors travel to Cal State Los Angeles on Sunday, March 9th for a match scheduled at 11:00 a.m.
