Warriors Look to Build on 2–0 Start in Northwest Road Trip

TURLOCK, Calif. — Off to a perfect 2-0 start in 2025, Stanislaus State Men's Soccer heads north this week for a two-match trip to the Pacific Northwest. The Warriors open at Simon Fraser on Wednesday, Sept. 11, at 5 p.m. in Burnaby, British Columbia, before facing Saint Martin's on Saturday, Sept. 13, at 1 p.m. in Lacey, Wash.

Update on the Warriors
Stanislaus State opened the season strong at home, defeating Seattle Pacific 2-1 and Western Washington 4-1. The Warriors hold a +4 goal differential and have outshot opponents 30–12 through two matches. Emmanuel Duran leads the team with two goals, while Gerardo Flores has added a goal and an assist. Goalkeeper Angel Ruiz-Hernandez owns a 1.00 goals-against average with five saves. Samuel Villanueva has also made an early impact, assisting on three of Stan State's four goals against Western Washington.

Scouting Simon Fraser (0-0-2)
Simon Fraser has opened with back-to-back draws, tying Hawai'i Pacific 1-1 and Westmont 4-4. The Red Leafs have shown offensive firepower, scoring five goals on just 22 shots (.227 shooting percentage), with four different players finding the back of the net. Defensively, they've conceded five goals on 38 shots and have been outshot nearly 2-to-1. Wednesday marks the third all-time meeting between the Warriors and Red Leafs. Simon Fraser won 2-1 in 2023 in Santa Barbara and 3-0 last season in Burnaby.

Scouting Saint Martin's (0-2-0)
Saint Martin's enters the week looking for its first win after a 2-1 loss to Westmont and a 2-0 setback against Hawai'i Pacific. The Saints have managed one goal in two games, scored by Cole Sullivan. Goalkeeper Connor Leistiko has nine saves with a 2.00 goals-against average. Stan State leads the all-time series 3-1, including a 4-1 win last season in Lacey. In that match, Adrian Yepez and Samuel Villanueva each scored, with Jose Ponce adding an assist.
