Rodriguez, Figueroa Goals Lift Warriors to 2-1 Win at Westmont

SANTA BARBARA, Calif.---- Stanislaus State leaned on clutch goals from Kellyann Rodriguez and Jocelyn Figueroa — and a dominant 19-7 shot advantage — to earn a 2-1 road victory over Westmont on Thursday afternoon. With the result, the Warriors improved to 3-1-2 on the season. Rodriguez struck first with her opening goal of the year, and after Westmont equalized midway through the second half, Figueroa answered just two minutes later with her first career game-winner — and third career goal — off a cross from Haylee Sousa to push Stan State past their hosts.

First Half Recap
Stanislaus State dictated the pace early, pressuring the Westmont back line with multiple chances. The breakthrough came in the 10th minute when Rodriguez capitalized with her first goal of the season to give the Warriors the edge. Stan State outshot Westmont 6-5 in the opening frame and took a 1-0 lead into the break.

Second Half Recap
The Warriors continued to press forward, firing 13 more shots after halftime. Westmont, now 0-6-0 on the season, found an equalizer in the 70th minute, but the momentum shift was short-lived.
