Stan State Travels for Matches with Cal State Monterey Bay and Cal State East Bay
TURLOCK, Calif.--- Stan State's volleyball team is on the road this week to continue conference play. The Warriors will travel to Cal State Monterey Bay on October 3 for a match at 5:00 p.m., followed by a visit to Cal State East Bay on October 4 for a 5:00 p.m. match as well.
Last Week Versus Chico State & Cal Poly Humboldt
Stan State hosted Chico State and Cal Poly Humboldt last week, sweeping both opponents in straight sets. The Warriors took down the Wildcats 3-0, with Isabella Saucedo earning 14 kills with a .333 hitting percentage. Irene London and Malia Tanksley posted seven blocks apiece. The following day, the Warriors swept the Lumberjacks 3-0 as the defense put up 10 blocks to Cal Poly Humboldt's one. Fallon Freeman tallied six kills on 11 swings for a .545 hitting percentage.

The Warriors enter this week 6-5 overall and 4-0 in CCAA play, which is the best conference start in program history. Offensively, Isabella Saucedo leads the team with 103 kills, putting her at 2.64 kills per set. Shaelyn Pruiett keeps the offense running with 178 assists, while Leah Mendoza anchors the defense with 192 digs. Victoria Plumb leads the team in service aces with 13. Irene London leads the team in blocks with 39, while Lauren Hamilton has the most solo blocks on the team with nine.

Four Warriors have double-doubles this season with Shaelyn Pruiett and Isabella Saucedo recording two apiece, while Kryslin James and Maggie Olson have each earned one double-double.

Stan State is ranked in the top three in the CCAA in several categories. The Warriors rank second in hitting percentage (.202), team attacks per set (35.79), and team total blocks (107); and first in blocks per set (2.74), digs per set (16.64), and opponent hitting percentage (.133). In NCAA Division II rankings, Stan State is ranked 32nd in team total blocks (107), 22nd in opponent hitting percentage (.133), and 5th in blocks per set (2.74). Leah Mendoza's digs per set at 4.92 rank her 40th in Division II and Irene London's 1.39 blocks per set put her 13th.
Otters Preview
Cal State Monterey Bay is currently 2-9 overall and 1-3 in CCAA play. They are led in kills by Zoe Haan with 161 while Maya Cann sets up the play with 297 assists. Haan also leads the team in service aces with 10. Lilly Bandle defends the net with 40 total blocks, including a team-leading 12 solo blocks, as Mia Dilley anchors the back row with 109 digs. The Otters lead the all-time series versus the Warriors 22-17 with Stan State claiming the win in their two meetings last season.
Pioneers Preview
Cal State East Bay (4-7, 2-2 in CCAA) will face UC Merced before hosting Stan State. Barakat Adekola leads the team in kills with 126 while Pi'lani Carvalho has a team-leading 332 assists. Kale'a Kuamo'o has earned 18 service aces to lead the Pioneers. On defense, Natali Herrera defends the net with 41 blocks, while Kuamo'o is the team leader in digs with 179. In the all-time series between the Pioneers and the Warriors, the Pioneers lead the series 21-19, though the Warriors have won eight of the last 10 matches.
