Warriors Set to Open 2025 Cross Country Season at Home with Kim Duyst Twilight
TURLOCK, Calif. — The Stanislaus State men's and women's cross country teams will open the 2025 season on home turf, hosting the annual Kim Duyst Twilight meet on Saturday, September 13, at the River Oaks Golf Course in Ceres, Calif.
The meet marks the first of three regular-season competitions leading up to postseason action. Following the Twilight, the Warriors will return to competition on Saturday, September 27, at the UC Riverside Invitational, held at the Ag Ops Cross Country Course in Riverside, Calif. The final regular season meet will take place on Friday, October 10, at the SF State Invitational in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park's Speedway Meadows.
With two weeks to prepare, Stan State will then compete in the 2025 California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Cross Country Championships on Friday, October 24, at Bidwell Park in Chico, Calif.
Postseason continues at the NCAA Division II West Regionals, scheduled for Saturday, November 8, at Ash Creek Preserve in Monmouth, Ore. The Warriors will aim to qualify for the NCAA Division II National Championships, to be held Saturday, November 22, at the Wayne E. Dannehl National Cross Country Course in Kenosha, Wis., hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Parkside.
Stan State returns three All-CCAA honorees on both the men's and women's sides. For the men, Tanner Gerhart, Jackson Oliveira, and Mason Oliveira return after leading the Warriors to a third-place finish at the 2024 CCAA Championships. All three earned All-CCAA recognition, with Gerhart placing 10th, Jackson Oliveira 13th, and Mason Oliveira 15th. Gerhart was named CCAA Newcomer of the Year, while Jackson Oliveira was honored as CCAA Freshman of the Year.
The women's team returns a trio of All-CCAA runners who helped guide the Warriors to a second place finish last season. Annie Wild placed third, Jacqueline Sanchez-Silva finished fifth, and Crystal Hernandez took seventh, all earning All-CCAA honors.
At the NCAA Division II West Regionals, the men placed sixth in a field of 22 teams, led by Abe Alsaidi's 25th-place performance, which garnered All-Region recognition. The women punched their ticket to nationals with a fifth-place regional finish. Sanchez-Silva (9th) and Wild (13th) both earned All-Region honors.
At the NCAA Championships in Sacramento, the Warrior women finished 24th, with Wild leading the team in 67th place overall.
