Warriors Earn Nineteen All-CCAA Honors; Jaevin Sawyer CCAA Men’s Track & Field Freshman of the Meet
TURLOCK, Calif.--- Stan State men's and women's track and field teams earned All-CCAA honors in 19 events this weekend at the CCAA Track & Field Championships that were hosted by the Warriors at Al Brenda Track at Warrior Stadium. Jaevin Sawyer was named the CCAA Men's Track and Field Freshman of the Meet as voted on by the coaches. Capturing their respective events were: Trent Lauderdale (400 hurdles), Alexis Nino (hammer), Jaevin Sawyer (200-meter), and Annie Wild (800-meter).
CCAA CHAMPIONS: Four Warriors captured their respective event champions to become the CCAA Champion. Trent Lauderdale captured the 400-hurdles with his time of 51.06. Alexis Nino had a first place throw of 158-8 in the hammer. Jaevin Sawyer ran a 21.07 to capture the 200-metger and Annie Wild captured the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:21.42.
ALL-CCAA WARRIORS: Altogether, the Warriors placed in the top three in 19 events to earn All-CCAA honors. The men's 4x100 relay team of Eris Hutchins, Jaheim Williams, Jaevin Sawyer, and Trent Lauderdale finished in second. The women's 4x400 relay team of Reyna Dismukes, Rionna Wallace, Mila Real, and Shaylynn Wynn finished in third. The men's 4x400 relay team of Jaevin Sawyer, Jaheim Williams, Jemar Armstrong, and Trent Lauderdale placed third. Alexis Nino was first in the hammer and third in the shot put. Mila Real was second in the 400-hurdles and third in the 100-hurdles. Annie Wild captured the 1500 and was second in the 800. Cole Bailey was second in the hammer while Reyna Dismukes was third in the triple jump and Devin Hernandez was third in the shot put. Lamont Lane was third in the hammer. Trent Lauderdale captured the 400-hrurdles and Jaevin Sawyer was first in the 200 and third int eh 200. Domini Robles finished third in the 5,000-meter run while Jackson Oliveira was second. Rionna Wallace placed third in the 100.
NCAA DII QUALIFYING TIMES: During the CCAA Track & Field Championships, the Warriors had six NCAA Division II qualifying times for the 2025 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Trent Lauderdale is now fourth in the 400-hurdles with his first-place time of 40.65 this afternoon in the finals. Jaevin Sawyer recorded a qualifying time in the 100 and 200-meter dashes this afternoon. Sawyer is 51st in the 100 with his third-place time of 10.47. The Warrior freshman is 57th with his first-place time of 21.07 in the 200. The 4x100 relay team of Eris Hutchins, Jaheim Williams, Jaevin Sawyer, and Trent Lauderdale are 53rd in the nation with their second-place and school record time of 40.65.
Rionna Wallace qualified with her two school records in the prelims in the 100 and 200-meter dashes. She is 60th in the 100 (11.76) and 52nd in the 200 (24.03). Mila Real's time of 1:00.00 in the 400-hurdles moved her to 16th in the nation which she ran in the prelims.
MULTI-EVENTS: Alfred Nunes placed fourth in the decathlon just 81 points out of earning All-CCAA honors. He was fifth in the 100-meter dash, long jump, high jump, javelin, and 1500-meter run. Nunes was sixth in the shot put and 400-meter dash. He finished second in the pole vault and was third in the 110-hurdles and discus.
SCHOOL RECORDS: Rionna Wallace broke the school record in the 200-meter dash with her time of 24.03 in the prelims breaking her own record of 24.41. Wallace and Mila Real broke the Stan State records in the 100-meter dash and 400-meter hurdles in the prelims of each event. Jaevin Sawyer now owns the school record in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.42. The men's 4x100 relay team of Eris Hutchins, Jaheim Williams, Jaevin Sawyer, and Trent Lauderdale broke the school record with a time of 40.65.

For the second straight day, Rionna Wallace broke a Stan State record this time with her time of 24.03 in the 200-meter dash. Alfred Nunes moved into eighth place on Stan State's top ten list in the decathlon with 6024 points.
- Warriors Split Road Doubleheader with Chico StateStan State split its road doubleheader with the Chico State Wildcats this afternoon took the night cap 4-3 but lost the opener 7-5. Rocco Gurrola pitched a complete game victory to improve to 5-4 on the season. Jonluke Goldman went three-for-four with what proved to be the game-winning two-out two-run single. Jackson Brooks scored twice, and Ryan Leonesio drove in two runs in the opener for the guests.

Alexis Nion captured the women's hammer while Cole Bailey and Lamont Lane finished second and third in the men's hammer. Rionna Wallace and Mila Real were two of ten Warriors to advance to Saturday's finals. Wallace broke the school record with her of 11.76 in the 100-meter dash preliminaries. Real broke the school record and is now 11th in the nation with her time of 1:00.00 in the 400-hurdles.
- Baseball’s Late Inning Rally Falls Short in Series Opener at Chico StateStan State saw its late inning rally fall short this evening, 9-4, in its series opener at Chico State. Alex Solis was two-for-three with a solo home run to lead the way for the Warriors. Solis now has 200 hits for his career, which places him third on the Warrior top ten list. His 15th career home run places him tied for ninth at Stan State.
