Women’s Cross Country 21st in the Nation

NEW ORLEANS---  In the first 2024 NCAA Division II Women's Cross Country National Coaches' Poll, which was released today by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCA), Stan State is 21st in the nation. 

The Warriors have finished second in their first two invitationals of the season.  This past weekend, Stan State hosted the Kim Duyst Twilight Invitational and finished second to Chico State.  Annie Wild paced the Warriors with her second-place time of 21:11.6 in the 6K race.  Jacqueline Sanchez-Silva finished fifth followed by Crystal Hernandez with her tenth-place time of 22:02.

Stan State finished second in its season opener at the Seawolf Invite/CCAA Championship Preview.  Wild led the Warriors with her fifth-place time of 18:45.1 followed by Sanchez-Silva in seventh place (18:53.21) and Tessa Vasquez (eighth, 19:00.31).

The Warriors are off Friday, October 11 when they travel to San Francisco to participate in the SF State Invitational at Golden Gate Park's Speedway Meadows.  The race is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m.
